May 2016 (Mars Out)

Week 23 (W23)

Everything this week is about love or money.  You can pick one or the other, and in some cases you can have both.  In order to have either, you must clean house and shed old baggage this week.

Sunday May 29th

Planets have either moved out of Taurus or soon will, Moon and Sun have made a powerful statement regarding Sagittarius / Gemini issues, and retrograde planets are beginning to move forward.  School is out (for most students), summer is here, and May (and Taurus) is nearly “over” (until next year).  The “Mutable T” we have been discussing is highly activated today with Moon joining Neptune in the morning.

Secrets have been revealed, and we must process what we have learned.  We do have a danger of…

Jupiter Square Saturn 2016-05-26

First, you might want to peek at our analysis of this aspect on March 23, 2016 and August 3, 2015.  The perfection of today’s square is the third in a three party sequence, and we will not see a similar pattern repeat until 2024 / 2025.

Before we address the regular patterns, we should note some remarkable fifth harmonic activity.  Two triangular patterns composed of fifth harmonic activity are present.  One is formed by Juno (in Scorpio; trust v. betrayal, wives, sisters, daughters) at the apex and Sun in Gemini on one leg and Chiron in Pisces on the other.  This Jupiter / Saturn square has this particularly powerful pattern in play.  Jupiter/Saturn aspects are associated with changes in the financial markets, and we note that issues of trust (Juno) have become important (if you do not know this, then you need to watch “

Jupiter Square Saturn 2016-03-23

We are discussing Jupiter Square Saturn, but we first need to point out that this is a LONG TERM ASPECT.  If you are in the habit of checking the newspaper or website for your “forecast today,” a fortune cookie of sorts, then you likely will NOT understand this.  This REQUIRES a long-term point of view.

Archive of Week 20 (W20)

We are the end of May and a series of retrogrades including Mercury Retrograde that has been with us for a few weeks (to a few months, depending on which retrograde we are talking about) will be ending.  Jupiter has moved direct, and Mercury Retrograde stations direct now.  Direct movement will be slow, and we will be in the “shadow” for a bit, but now is a good time to start launching truly new projects as opposed to reviewing and resurrecting old ones.

Those old projects either proved to be a good idea “after all” or they did not.  If they are good, stick with them and grow them.  But, if not, put them back on hold or discard them altogether.  The time is at hand to look at new things and new ideas.

The Taurus New Moooon perfected…

We are in the middle of May as well as a series of retrogrades including Mercury Retrograde, and “things” are likely to be interesting until at least after May 22nd (arguably later because of the other retrogrades in play also).  (Clarissa has written a great piece on the Mercury Retrograde.  And you can find more about these periods for the rest of the year here.  This page may also be useful.)  The Taurus New Moooon perfected on May 6th, and we will have a Sagittarius Moon / Gemini Sun on May 21st (a day after Sun moves into Gemini).  Let’s be clear: for better or worse, “things” will change with that lunation and the accompanying Mercury direct station.

School is out, and has been out, for most students, and that particular weekend (May…

May 2016 (Mars Out)

Week 19 (W19)

May 1st

Moon enters Pisces as Sun (Taurus) sextiles Neptune (Pisces).  Generally, poetry, music, photography and videography (and cinema) prosper today whether you are audience or artist.  Vesta / Neptune quintile favors arts that examine traditions and Venus BiQuintile Mars hints at police or military traditions.  For many people, this is mostly a quiet day and a very good day to visit someone who is sick or wounded and in the hospital or otherwise in need of having their spirits lifted.

May 2nd

An early morning conjunction of the Moon and Neptune (both in Pisces) brings either good sleep or vivid dreams or maybe both.  If you did visit a sick or wounded person yesterday, then you may find that today is a turning point for them (they either get…

2016-05 W19: Forecasts for Week 19 of 2016

In Memory of Cainer

Grandtrines

Some time over a decade ago, and before I started this blog, I discovered the work of Jonathon Cainer.  He was a standard “Sun sign” style newspaper astrologer in the UK, but he was also much more than that.  His daily entries had a remarkable quality to them that I describe as “philosophical.”  While others, myself included, would focus in on the details of what, say, a Sagittarius Moon / Gemini Sun type full moon had to say, Cainer would zoom out and speak in lyrical words of poetry about the bigger picture of such a turn of events.

He was, in a word, inspiring.

So, I was disappointed to discover this morning, May 19th, that he had passed away on May 2nd of this year, 2016.  No chance now of him reading that email that I kept thinking about sending him for years but then not sending because I…
